Cooperation on CPD for Registered Technicians with IFS


On 21 June 2017, an agreement signing ceremony was held at City University of Macau to launch the joint Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Registered Architectural, Engineering, and Urban Planning Technicians Programme provided by the Open Institute of City University of Macau (OI-CityU) and Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS).

 

 

The Agreement was signed by Mr Robert Chan, Director of OI-CityU cum Secretary General of the Council of CityU; and Mr Félix Pontes, Chairman of the Executive Board of IFS, in the presence of witnesses, Professor Shu Guang Zhang, Rector of CityU, and Ms Wai Leng Kun, General Secretary to the Executive Board of IFS.

 

 

Rector Zhang expressed appreciation for the continuous support from IFS. Both institutions are determined to continue to work together to develop other collaborative possibilities, and foster more cooperation and joint activities.

 

 

Also attending were Ms Nga Man Tong, Registrar of IFS; Dr Gavin Chau, Executive Associate Dean of OI-CityU; and Dr Rui Rocha, Director of Department of Portuguese Language and Culture of Portuguese-speaking Countries of CityU.

 

 

The Agreement sets out the joint commitment to providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Registered Architectural, Engineering, and Urban Planning Technicians in Macau, who are required to take at least 50 hours of continuing training in technical specialisation and multi-disciplinary areas in a period of two years. The CPD programme provided by OI-CityU and IFS includes a range of supplementary modules that cover the multi-disciplinary areas including management, law, environment, finance, management information system, and safety at work, etc.. These modules will be taught in Chinese, Portuguese, and/ or English. The CPD hours gained from the Programme will be recognised by the Council of Architecture, Engineering and Urban Planning of the Macau SAR Government.
