On 25 and 26 July, OI-CityU and British Council jointly organised the IELTS Trainer’s Training Workshop on the Royal Centre Campus of City University of Macau. Fifteen English teachers from CityU, Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai), and Dulwich International High School, Zhuhai attended the training workshop.

Mr Laurence Whitaker, Senior IELTS Trainer of British Council was the coach of the training workshop. Mr Whitaker has rich language coaching experience, especially in IELTS teachers’ training. Mr Whitaker used many practical cases during the training and offered high quality training to the participants. All the teachers expressed that they had gained a lot on how to help students improve IELTS test-taking skills, and a deeper understanding of IELTS. Mr Richard Davis, Senior Training Consultant of British Council took part in the evaluation of the training.

As IELTS is the leading test system of English globally, professional IELTS trained teachers are high in demand. The IELTS trainer’s training workshop organised by OI-CityU has provided the first group of professional IELTS trainers for CityU’ IELTS test centre.
