MOU signed with Macau Institute of Financial Services


On 27th January 2016, the Open Institute of City University of Macau (OI-CityU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS). The MOU was signed by Dr Gavin Chau, Executive Associate Dean of OI-CityU; and Mr António José Félix Pontes, Chairman of the Executive Board of IFS. The signing of the MOU was witnessed by Dr Rui Manuel de Sousa Rocha, Director of Department of Portuguese Language and Culture of Portuguese-speaking Countries of CityU, and Ms Evelyn Kun, General Secretary to the Executive Board of IFS.

 

The MOU will further promote and facilitate cooperation between the two institutions in organising joint training programmes offered to professionals in the field of finance, banking, accounting, insurance and other relevant financial industries, as well as jointly establishing a centre for organising Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes.

 

The Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) was established in March 2002 as a non-profit organisation. Its founding members are the Monetary Authority of Macau, the Macau Association of Banks, the Macau Insurers’ Association and the Macau Insurance Agents and Brokers Association.

 

The objective of the IFS is to upgrade performances, expertise and professional standards of Macau’s financial practitioners by provision of professional training and qualifying examinations so as to foster the sustainable development of Macau’s financial industry.
